
The biographical war drama, Ikkis, was finally released on January 1, 2026. The film is marked as the last movie of veteran actor, Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, 2025. Ikkis is based on the real life of a 21-year-old hero, Arun Khetarpal, who was martyred when he was in action during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Agastya Nanda played the role of ‘Arun Khetarpal’, and Dharmendra portrayed the role of his father, ‘Brigadier M. L. Khetarpal’. The story of Ikkis kicks off with the timeline set in 2001, when ‘Arun’s’ father, ‘M. L. Khetarpal’ revisits the city of Lahore to attend his college reunion. He went to ‘Naseer’s’ (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) residence and stayed there for three days. Soon, he gelled with them. Being back in the city, ‘M. L. Khetarpal’ gets filled with memories.
