After almost 14 years as Lucasfilm President, Kathleen Kennedy had made a tough call. After a striking reign at the helm, she announced that she would be stepping down this week. While the move was not a surprise to many, it will mark a major change of the guard at the Walt Disney Co-owned, Star Wars studio. According to reports, Kathleen Kennedy announced the decision to step away after January 15, 2026 (ET).
In her place, Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer, Dave Filoni has been named president. Dave will retain his creative title, and Lucasfilm Business President and General Manager, Lynwen Brennan, has been named co-president of Disney. The pair will co-lead the San Francisco-based studio and will report to Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman, Alan Bergman.
