After the visuals were publicised, some investigators weighed in on the possibility that Dominic Evans, the friend of Nancy’s son-in-law, Tommaso, was the face behind the mask. Eagle-eyed fans have even found an alleged crucial similarity between the kidnapper and Dominic to support their claim.

Recent online speculation has compared an alleged wrist tattoo seen on a masked kidnapper of Nancy Guthrie to Dominic Evans, a former bandmate and longtime friend of Tommaso Cioni. Several online users visited Dominic and Tommaso’s band, Early Black, and spotted something inked on the former’s wrist. The drummer’s alleged tattoo received attention after former FBI supervisory special agent and criminal profiler, Jim Clemente, shared with Fox News that a potential tattoo on the right wrist of the masked subject in the FBI-released footage could be a critical identifier.
