In the 911 audio recordings, the dispatchers can be heard saying that Brown’s wife, Arlene, was the one to place the emergency call. The dispatch noted that Brown’s wife “advised her husband was trapped in the barn [and] the barn is on fire.” Soon after, she allegedly “hung up the phone” after losing contact with her husband, and officials struggled to reconnect with her. What the emergency services found after reaching the scene was even more harrowing.
