In an interview with Gopinathon on a TV show, the actor recalled of how his dream of pursuing acting created issues between him and Jessy. He remembered:
“When I knew they wouldn’t approve, I started taking photos secretly. But Jessy found out about it. By then, she was pregnant for the second time. Jessy furiously said, I’m going to my mother’s house, and walked away. But Vijay Sethupathi immediately ran over, placed his hand on her stomach, and promised, I won’t act anymore. My family is more important.”
