On December 27, 2023, Salman Khan turned a year older. And to wish him on the special day, his long-time friend and filmmaker, Karan Johar penned a heart-melting note for him.

Karan Johar recalls Salman Khan saving him by being a part of his film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Taking to his IG handle on December 27, 2023, Karan Johar dropped a candid picture of Salman Khan from one of the stills of his performance in the movie, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. However, it was the longish note which he penned along with the picture that grabbed the attention. On the actor’s birthday, Karan reminisced about his equation with Salman and recalled the moment he went to narrate the script of the KKHH to the latter, as a last resort to find an actor doing the role of ‘Aman’ in the film. Karan revealed that he was exceptionally close with Salman’s sister, Alvira, as a result of which he dared to take the script to him, hoping he would save him with a miracle. In an excerpt of the note, Karan said:

“In my wildest dreams I never imagined I would even get the opportunity of a narration … I went with a prayer in my heart and a deep desire for a miracle and narrated the first of the film like my life depended on it…He looked at me at the interval point ( by then I was looking like I was at the Sahara desert and water could keep me alive ) kindly offered me water and said “ I’’m on!!! “ I was perplexed and said but “ you are in the second half” you haven’t heard it? He said “ I love your father and my sister will kill me if I don’t do this movie” and that’s how Salman Khan was in KKHH.”
