Chef Vikas Khanna reveals the promise his late sister, Radhika made him take, before she passed away

Chef Vikas Khanna has always credited his late sister, Radhika for the success of his restaurant, Bungalow, to his sister, Radhika. During an interview with CNN, he remembered that his sister took him to a luxurious restaurant in 2003. She had the hope that the chef would come and meet her brother. However, they were shooed away and told that the chef only met those who ordered, “tasting menus”. Post leaving the place, Vikas cheered his sister, but he had failed. When she was on her deathbed, she made him take a promise from her to never have qualities like that chef. Talking about the same Vikas said:

“We had great food in that restaurant, but we were made to feel less. ‘Un-restaurant’ yourself. She taught me… not my degrees and my Michelin stars, or what I was wearing on my head… She taught me a whole new perspective on a restaurant.”
