Sanjay Dutt is undoubtedly one of the powerhouse of talents in Bollywood. The dashing actor with a perfectly enviable physique and humble nature has been mesmerising audiences with his terrific acting mettle, and has made his fans always desire for more. In his exemplary acting career over decades, he has served some of the iconic blockbuster hits, including Rocky, Khalnayak, Vaastav: The Reality, Sadak, Saajan among others. Recently, one of his films, Khalnayak clocked 30 years of its release, and on the special occasion, the entire cast and crew of the film met for a celebration. During the same, Sanjay Dutt revealed a hilarious anecdote from the shooting of the film.
Sanjay Dutt was shocked to learn that he was to wear a ghaghra-choli for a song in Khalnayak
While speaking at the celebratory event of the film, Khalnayak turning 30 years, Sanjay Dutt shared an unheard and rather funny anecdote from his memories of shooting a particular sequence in the film. Sanjay mentioned that for the iconic song, Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, the filmmaker, Subhash Ghai asked him to wear a ghaghra for the scene, which made him shocked. In his words:
“I have very fond memories of this film, which has a fantastic cast. The madness of Balu’s character was not me but Subhash ji. When I came on the set wearing the costume of Ballu, Subhash ji said make him wear ghagra-choli. I was shocked and asked him, sir, kya kar rahe ho? He was like, ‘Nahi tu pehen kar aa. Tu choli ke peeche kar raha hai.”
