Dia Mirza reveals she and her son nearly died before her delivery

Dia Mirza tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi in 2021 and welcomed her son in the same year. However, things were not smooth, as Avyaan was born prematurely and had been kept in the ICU for two months. Dia Mirza recently sat down for an interview with the Official People Of India. She revealed that she had undergone an appendix surgery in the fifth month of her pregnancy. After a month, doctors found that her placenta was haemorrhaging. Consequently, her body was going into sepsis, and if her baby wasn’t delivered, it could have claimed both their lives. Recalling the terrifying situation, she said:

“I developed an acute bacterial infection, which could have been a side effect of my appendix surgery that I underwent during the fifth month of my pregnancy. By the end of my sixth month, we realised that my placenta was hemorrhaging and my body was going into sepsis. If the baby wasn’t delivered, neither of us could be saved. It was quite scary.”
