For the unversed, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani featured Alia Bhatt as ‘Rani’ and Ranveer Singh as ‘Rocky’. The film also featured legendary actors like Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been inspired by several real-life couples, and one of them is Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. In a candid chat with Mid Day, Karan Johar opened up about his film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Talking about the same, the filmmaker revealed that he may have subconsciously been inspired by Akshay and Twinkle’s chemistry while developing the characters, ‘Rani and Rocky’. Elaborating more on Twinkle and Akshay’s relationship, Karan mentioned that they have a beautiful friendship in their marriage and a distinct kind of comfort. In his words:
“Maybe subconsciously (I got inspired). They have a tremendous friendship in their marriage. I have had dinners with them, meals with them, hung out with them. And there’s a terrific kind of comfort in their camaraderie.”
