Karisma Kapoor, the eldest daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor, has been through a lot in her personal life. In the ’90s, she was the superhit heroine and the ‘it’ girl of Bollywood. While she achieved a lot of success in her professional life as an actor, Karisma wasn’t lucky in matters of the heart. In 2002, Karisma Kapoor got engaged to Abhishek Bachchan, but within a few months, they decided to call off their engagement. Recently, we stumbled upon an old interview of Karisma, wherein she opened up about the toughest phase of her life.
Karisma Kapoor once opened up about her broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan
In an old interview with Subhash K Jha, Karisma revealed the traumatic experience after calling off her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan. She said that it was time she had to speak up. She stated that the beginning of the year started with a traumatic experience, and she hopes no other girl goes through it. Karisma was quoted as saying:
“It is time I spoke. I owe it to everyone. The beginning of this year was traumatic for me. I wouldn’t wish any girl to go through it. I was forced to deal with my hurt and pain on my own. I guess time is the best healer. Though I have been through a lot, I have come to terms with whatever has happened. All I will say is, whatever is destined is bound to happen. I was emotionally unprepared to confront my problems. Life deals you different cards. You have to just go with the shuffle.”
