Meanwhile, the teaser also mentioned that Sai Pallavi will be playing the role of ‘Goddess Sita’ and Ravi Dubey will be seen as ‘Lakshman’. It was also mentioned in the teaser that Sunny Deol will be seen as ‘Lord Hanuman’ in the film. Amidst this, rumours are circulating that his brother, Bobby Deol, who was also Ranbir’s co-star in Animal, will be essaying the role of ‘Kumbhakarna’. However, whether this is true or not has recently been fact-checked.
Bobby Deol will not be playing the role of ‘Kumbhakarna’ in Ramayana
In Valmiki’s Ramayana, Kumbhakarna was the brother of the demon king, Ravana and fought on his side. However, this unique character has been loved by many people despite fighting on the side of evil. Hence, as the anticipation for the upcoming film, Ramayana is mounting, people are also excited to find out who will be essaying this character. Amidst the speculations, Bobby Deol’s name surfaced, and rumours were circulating that he would be seen as ‘Kumbhakarna’ in the film. However, Bollywood Hungama reported that these rumours are false. A source said to the portal:
“The reports are inaccurate. His name just cropped up all of a sudden. Ramayana is one of the most anticipated upcoming films of 2026. Given the scale of the project, casting speculations have been rife, but it is important to separate facts from rumours.
