Riddhima Kapoor Recalls Weeping On Shoot With Mom Neetu, ‘Last Time I Cried Openly Was When Dad…’

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the daughter of Neetu Kapoor and the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, earned considerable fame following her stint in Karan Johar’s Netflix show, Fabulous Wives vs Bollywood Wives. Now, she is gearing up for her debut on the big screen with Kapil Sharma in his upcoming film. After wrapping up a 40-day shoot with Kapil and Neetu, Riddhima now feels even more connected with her mother, and a ‘roller coaster of emotions’, from happy moments to particularly moving ones that made her tear up.

Riddhima remembers crying openly during a scene’s shoot

In a recent conversation with ETimes, Riddhima opened up about shooting for her debut film alongside her mother, Neetu Kapoor, and Kapil Sharma in the scenic hill town of Mashobra near Shimla. The actress, who spent 40 days on set, described the experience as deeply emotional. As someone who rarely cries in public, during a particular scene, she couldn’t control her tears. Recalling how her mom, Neetu, was shaken to see her break down, Riddhima was quoted as saying:

“The film is a roller coaster of emotions. There’s one scene in particular that really moved me. I’m not someone who cries easily or publicly. When something hurts, I usually retreat, cry in private and come back composed. The last time I cried openly was when my dad passed away. But this scene, without any glycerine, just broke me. The emotions were so real, and my mom was shaken seeing me like that.”
