Shruti Haasan’s father, Kamal Haasan, doesn’t like it when she talks about growing up in an atheist household

Shruti Haasan has often spoken about her childhood being chaotic. However, it was during a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia when she revealed how much her father hated it when she talked about her non-religious home and later embracing her own spiritual path. The actress recalled her parents would try to figure out how to be parents as she watched them raise her and her sibling. She added that the concept of God was extremely foreign to her, but somewhere in her brain, she knew art was God. She was quoted as saying:

“We grew up in an atheist home; a non-religious home. My dad hates it when I say this, but we didn’t have God at home. None of that stuff that other homes have. It’s so alien, the concept of religion and God. Somewhere, in my child brain, I knew art was God. Every day of the week would be devoted to artistic endeavours.”
