The couple, who got married in 2020, filed for a divorce earlier this year, and their abrupt divorce that came just after four years of marriage had led to many speculation and rumours. The cricketer had now opened up about his struggles, reason for their divorce, the emotional toll it took on his health and much more. He also revealed the final conversation he had with Dhanashree Verma before the couple parted their ways for good.

Speaking on the podcast with entrepreneur, Raj Shamani, Yuzvendra Chahal revelead that he is not on talking term with his ex-wife, Dhanashree anymore. The reason for the same is not that they ended their relationship on a sour note but for the cricketer’s belief that if something has ended it has ended for good, there’s no need to keep the strings attached. He said the last conversation they had was in September 2024 probably, that too regarding the divorce itself with their lawyers present. They had not been talking for almost 6-7 months. He could be quoted as saying:
“Ho gye honge 6-7 mahine, kuch kaam ka hoga to bus us baare m baat hoti thi wrna nahi. I think after the World Cup 18-19 July it ended properly.”
