Anshula Kapoor opens up about her childhood guilt after her parents’ divorce

In a recent interview with The Quint, Anshula shared that at the age of five or six, she lost her confidence after her parents, Boney and Mona, got separated. She opened up about her childhood guilt of blaming herself for her parents’ divorce. She mentioned that it was her mother who later made her understand that relationships are between two people, and as a child, she was never the reason behind their separation. She was quoted as saying:

“Under confidence seeped into my being, perhaps at the age of five or six, once my parents separated. I, for the longest time, thought that my parents’ relationship didn’t work out because of me, that I was the root cause of it. For a six-year-old to carry that weight is a lot. However, it was my mom who helped me understand that relationships are between two people. They start and end because of things that happen between those two people. And that, as a child, you have no bearing on them.”
