‘Jugnuma’ X Reviews, Netizens Call Film ‘Haunting’ Yet ‘Magical’, Lauds Manoj Bajpayee For His Role

Jugnuma – The Fable, the drama film starring Manoj Bajpayee, was released on September 12, 2025. The film is directed by Raam Reddy, who is best known for the Kannada film, Thithi. The film revolves around a family, especially ‘Dev’, played by Manoj, who resides in a house in the mountains. Set in 1989 against the backdrop of the Himalayas, the film followed ‘Dev’, whose fruit orchards began to burn mysteriously in large numbers. Now that the film has already hit the theatres, here come the audience’s reactions to it.

Manoj Bajpayee draws a parallel between himself and his character, ‘Dev’

In an interview with Just Too Filmy, Manoj shared that before he started working in Raam Reddy’s Jugnuma, he was quite restless about what was happening in life. He also recalled a time, when he had no work for one year, just before The Family Man Season 1. It was Raam who suggested him of going to Kainchi Dham, where all his doubts were cleared. Drawing parallels with his character, ‘Dev’, Manoj mentioned that just like his own struggles, ‘Dev’ also faced similar kinds of issues. He was quoted as saying:

“The protagonist of this film goes through the same struggle. The more attached you are, the more problems you face. But sometimes, when you let go, that’s where liberation begins.”
