Why did Marc Maron end his podcast after 16 years of running?

Since everyone has been confused about what led to the end of Marc Maron’s podcast, the comedian explained his decision to end the podcast instantly. According to a statement in June, he and his longtime producer, Brendan McDonald, felt it was simply the “time” to end the show. Maron said there was no dramatic reason behind the decision to end the podcast. Instead, he was just tired and satisfied with what he and Brendan had accomplished over the years.
