Aamir Khan is popular as ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ in Bollywood. The actor has a reputation for giving his hundred per cent to any role and film that he takes up, showcasing his passion for the craft. However, this perfectionist image also comes with certain criticisms. Aamir has been accused by many industry insiders of taking over the creative process of the films he is in and sidelining directors. Though the actor recently refuted these claims, his co-star from Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel Safary, says that he clearly remembers Aamir Khan taking over Amol Gupte’s role as the director.
Darsheel Safary said that Amole Gupte directed the first few days then Aamir Khan took over
Aamir Khan made his directorial debut with Taare Zameen Par in 2007, which went on to become a commercial hit and a highly acclaimed film. However, Darsheel Safary, who was the star of the film with his portrayal of ‘Ishaan Awasthi’, recently opened up in an interview with Vickey Lalwani and said that Amol Gupte was the original director of the movie, and he remembers that the first few days of shooting happened under Gupte’s direction. But then Aamir took over the job, stated Darsheel.
