The phenomenon of ageism has been a much-debated matter in Bollywood for a long time now. Ironically, the aspect of ageism has unfairly been biased over actresses more than actors, since it has been a frequent trend to represent middle-aged actresses, or even those wishing to make a comeback to the silver screen after years, in stereotypical motherly roles. However, while there have been quite a lot of actresses who have refused to age on-screen, there have also been some others, who have ended up playing mothers to men, who are actually older than them in real life. One of the foremost actresses who played a mother to an actor older than her was none other than Nargis, in her iconic film, Mother India. She was all but 28-years-old when she played a mother to two stalwart actors, Sunil Dutt and Rajendra Kumar. Interestingly, the latter was the same age as her.
