In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Aditi Govitrikar recalled her historic win at the international stage. She compared her Mrs. World 2001 win with Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra. For the unversed, Lara Dutta was crowned Miss Universe 2000, and the ‘Desi Girl’ won the Miss World 2000 title. Aditi got candid during the interview and shared that, as she was not in the same publication house as Lara and Priyanka, she got a bouquet, while the duo received lucrative rewards like cars and flats. She added how Lara mocked her for the following. Recalling the moment, Aditi said:
“I became Mrs World the same year that Lara and Priyanka also became winners. We had a party, the unfortunate party, actually. The funny part was that I was not at the same publication house as they were, so they were given a flat, a car, and all, and I was given a bouquet. Lara was standing next to me. She was saying, ‘Look, we have a car, a house, and you have a husband.’ So I said, ‘That’s brilliant.’ I said, ‘That’s a good thing.'”
