Agastya Nanda Trolled For Old Remark On Getting Debut Without Training, Fans Say, ‘Like Abhishek..’

Nepotism has become one of the biggest debates in Bollywood ever. The trend of a popular actor or filmmaker’s children following in their parent’s footsteps isn’t new in Bollywood. However, the concern about privilege and lack of opportunities for outsiders has brought a lot of criticism. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda’s old interview went viral. The star kid who made his debut in 2024 with The Archies had shed light on how he always had the option to choose acting and got his debut role without going to acting school, which brought criticism from netizens. Here’s what he said.

Agastya Nanda shares that his friends teased him that he would only go into business or acting

Agastya Nanda is the son of Shweta Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter. Also, his father, Nikhil Nanda is son of Raj Kapoor’s daughter. Consequently, he is already connected to two of the most renowned filmy families in Bollywood. Recently, his old interview with Film Companion went viral. During the interview, he shared that he always had two options: acting and business in the agricultural sector with his father, so his friends often teased him about how he had no other career option. He said:

“Initially, I was working with my dad and growing up, I saw the fire that my dad has for his work like I saw he loves it, and it’s so contagious that when i used to go to work, i used to feel so excited but I was like I don’t have that kind of fire for it that he does and if do this it’s irresponsible on my part, I don’t want to ruin whatever he had created.”
