For the uninitiated, Sean Baker’s Anora won the Oscars for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Original, Best Picture, and Best Editing. Anora is based on the life of a young stripper who impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch. Before winning five Oscars, Anora won the Palme d’Or award and performed tremendously at the box office. Anora was made on a budget of just 6 million USD, and it went on to collect 41 million USD.
