Chhavi Mittal is one of the most popular faces in the telly world. She rose to fame with her hit stint in quite a few daily soaps, including Tumhari Disha, 3 Bahuraniya, Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann among others. However, life took a toll on the actress, after she got diagnosed with breast cancer a few years back. Though the diva fought it bravely and emerged victorious, she is even now, reeling with the after-effects of the deadly disease. In a recent interaction, the actress recalled one of the most heartbreaking moments during her cancer journey.
Chhavi Mittal recalls how her 9-year-old daughter, Areeza reacted to the former’s cancer diagnosis
In an interaction with News18 Showsha, Chhavi Mittal talked about one of the most heartbreaking episodes during her cancer journey, back in April 2022. The actress revealed that she was the first one who learnt about the cancer diagnosis, and she later informed the same to her husband, Mohit Hussein. However, while the adults got enough strength to digest such a terrible news, things were quite complicated for their 9-year-old daughter, Areeza. Recalling how the little one immediately thought that her mother was going to die, Chhavi said:
“I got to know about it first because I was in touch with the doctor. So he called me first. I told him (Mohit Hussein) that the report has come and it doesn’t look good. He just looked at me and said, okay, we’ll get through it. I spoke to Areeza. I sat down with her and told her, your mom is sick and she needs to go to the hospital for a few days. She is going to get better and come back home. She suddenly started crying and said, mumma, do you have that? I knew she was talking about cancer. I said, yes. I lost my nani to cancer. She [Areeza] knows it. She thought I was going to die. The only thing she knows about cancer is that it kills. She said, are you not going to be able to swallow food? Are you going to die?”
