For the unversed, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu first met each other when the latter was just a 12-year-old girl, who was a die-heart fan of the legendary actor. Later, the lovebirds got married in 1966, despite having an age gap of 22 years. It was on July 7, 2021, when Dilip Kumar left for the heavenly abode leaving Saira Banu alone. And now, after 2 years of his demise, Saira has started a new chapter in her life by making her social media debut.
Saira Banu drops an unseen picture of Dilip Kumar with Dharmendra and talks about their bond
On August 12, 2023, Saira Banu took to her Instagram handle and dropped two unseen pictures of her husband, the late Dilip Kumar with Dharmendra. In the first picture, young Dharmendra can be seen lovingly hugging Dilip Kumar. The two great stars of Bollywood looked amazing as they happily posed for the camera. Sharing the monochrome picture, Saira penned a long note and talked about Dharmendra’s bond with Dilip Kumar. She also revealed how Dharmendra travelled to Mumbai to meet the veteran actor after watching his film, Shaheed. In her words:
“In 1952, Dharmendra Ji travelled from Ludhiana, Punjab, to Bombay, after seeing ‘Shaheed’, which touched a deep emotional chord within him. He definitely wanted to meet Dilip Sahib whose acting had set him on fire. Right after he arrived in Bombay, he boldly took the step of looking for Sahib’s house at Bandra, Pali Mala.”
