Stranger Things officially came to an end on January 1, 2026, with the release of the finale episode. However, ever since its premiere, multiple fans have been speculating the possibility of a spin-off. Some publications also found an old interview of Finn Wolfhard, in which he has hinted at something. Well, now the creators of the show, Duffer Brothers revealed if the show will return with another season of a spin-off.
Duffer Brothers hint at the possibility of the Stranger Things world to expand
After the amazing response of Stranger Things season 5, Duffer Brother sat down for a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, during which they opened up about the possibility of a spin-off. They revealed that they are not interested in continuing the show just for the sake of it; however, they hinted at a spin-off as they shared that they are not allowed to say anything about it. Matt Duffer was quoted as saying:
“I mean, I guess a sequel could be about a midlife crisis. That just sounds really uninteresting! (laughs) Grandpa Hopper? I don’t know how that would read as anything but a gross cash grab to me. I wish I could talk a little bit more about the spinoff, but I’m not allowed to yet. But Ross and I are really excited about exploring new characters and a new mythology, but still very much are interested in telling a story in the spirit of Stranger Things.”
