In an interview with The New York Times, Kristin revealed that her actions affected her 14-year-old daughter as she cried her heart out due to the headline-making ordeal. She stated that they were already in a bad shape, and that’s when thing fell apart. Her children thought that she was going to die and that they would also die. Kristin revealed that she informed her children about the situation she was in with Andy. She said:
“They were already in really bad shape, and that’s when the wheels fell off the cart. Because my kids were afraid that I was going to die and they were going to die. They knew who Andy was, obviously. And I said, ‘He and I got very swept up in a moment and now it’s on social media.'”
