‘Golden Bachelor’s’ Mel Owens Opens Up On Divorce After His Ex-Wife Found A New Love ‘You Can Beg..’

Mel Owens, the 66-year-old lead of The Golden Bachelor, has been in the spotlight ever since he was announced as the next ‘Bachelor’ on ABC’s popular reality dating show. As the show nears its grand finale, only three women, Cindy Cullers, Peg Munson, and Debbie Siebers, are left to compete for the final rose. While Mel’s journey has caught everyone’s attention, the retired NFL Linebacker and attorney recently opened up about his difficult divorce and how it shaped his views towards love.

Is Mel Owens upset after his ex-wife found a new love?

Mel Owens recently sat down for an interview with US Weekly and opened up about his expensive divorce from his ex-wife, Fabiana Pimentel, in 2020. The retired NFL linebacker broke his silence for the first time outside of the show and admitted that although it was not easy for them to separate after two decades, he has learnt to find peace. Mel addressed the claims of Fabiana finding new love and acknowledged that he does not want to get in the way of anyone’s happiness. In his words:

“I’m never going to get in the way of someone’s happiness. Suppose you want to find somebody else in a different phase of your life. It hurts, but I can’t get in the way of your happiness. And what’s your happiness may not be my happiness. That’d be a real conflict. You can’t stop somebody, say, ‘I’m over here now.’ You can beg and plead, but I’m fine. Life is short, and if you’re in love with somebody else, that’s fine.”
