Bollywood actress, Ileana D’Cruz, has maintained a pretty low profile ever since she stepped into the US and made parenting her utmost focus as well as priority. The actress is happily married to Michael Dolan, and with their two sons, they stay in Houston, Texas. Illeana recently revealed why she chose not to hire a nanny and instead became a hands-on mom to care for her kids. Her son, Koa Phoenix Dolan, was born on August 1, 2023, and the pair was blessed with another son, Keanu Rafe Dolan, who entered their lives on June 19, 2025.
Ileana D’Cruz reveals why she did not keep a nanny for her kids
Ileana came on an Instagram Live related to Freedom To Feed and spoke to actress, Neha Dhupia. She revealed enjoying her motherhood journey and expressed how she did not want to keep a nanny but instead manage her kids on her own, even when she was completely exhausted. Ileana shared that she liked to be a hands-on mother and did not want to lose touch with the daily lives of her kids. Illeana did explain why she and her husband managed to take care of the kids despite having a busy schedule. In her words:
“We don’t have help and the good thing about being in Bombay (Mumbai) is that you do have access to a lot more help. And you have access to just so many things, like, you know, my friends are there and it’s home in a way, far more than what Houston is at the moment. But I think what was nice about being here (in the US) is the privacy of it all. It was just nice to sort of be in my own little bubble.”
