Karisma Kapoor stood as a pillar of strength for her family as her children, Samaira and Kiaan, lost their father, Sunjay Kapur, on June 12, 2025. The news came as a shock, as Sunjay Kapur was enjoying fit-self. On the day of the unfortunate incident, Sunjay was playing polo for his team, and according to reports, he swallowed a bee, which stung the inside of his mouth or throat. While first aid immediately helped after he said, ‘I swallowed something…’, they were not able to save him, and he succumbed to death.

On June 22, 2025, the Kapur family hosted a prayer meet for Sunjay Kapur in Delhi, and Karisma chose to attend it for their children, Kiaan and Samaira. In the clip shared by a photographer page, Karisma was dressed up in a white ethnic suit and her hair was tied in a ponytail. Her son, Kiaan, wore a white kurta-pyjama, and Karisma was seen giving him emotional support by tapping his back. She later, hugged her daughter, Samaira as they entered the airport.
