After two marriages that eventually ended, Aamir has found love again with his new girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, while maintaining deep and meaningful friendships with both of his ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. However, Aamir wasn’t always this open to change. In a rare and heartfelt conversation, the superstar revealed that during their split, he was initially against the idea of marriage counselling.

During a heartfelt chat with Pinkvilla, Aamir Khan reflected on a deeply personal chapter of his life — his separation from his first wife, Reena Dutta. The Lagaan actor opened up about the emotional turmoil he faced while parting ways with Reena Dutta, his wife of 16 years and mother of his two children, Ira and Junaid Khan. Aamir, popularly known as a perfectionist on screen, admitted that initially, he was strongly against the idea of counselling. He recalled:

“Main jab pehli dafa… therapy toh nahi thi woh. I think it was more like counselling. Jab Reena aur main alag ho rahe the toh uss waqt hum log kareeban dedh saal ek marriage counsellor ke paas gaye the. Toh woh mera pehla experience tha therapy, counselling ko le kar.”
