Who created the Labubu Doll, which became a viral sensation?
Labubu’s creator is Hong Kong artist, Kasing Lung, who created the toy as a character in a children’s book series titled, The Monsters back in 2015. Nordic fairytales inspired it, the character got characterised by its jagged teeth, pointy ears and sharp fangs. It was in 2019 when Lung had partnered with Pop Mart, a Chinese toy store that made the character famous after they started selling Labubu as a part of their blind box collection series.
