Earlier, this year, in 2025, Leonardo DiCaprio sat down with the One Battle After Another director, Paul Anderson, for an Esquire magazine cover story. During the interview, the Hollywood icon was asked about his biggest regret. In response, he shared that his biggest regret is not doing the role of ‘Dirk Diggler’ in Paul’s movie, Boogie Nights. Mark Wahlberg eventually did the role. He was quoted as saying:
“My biggest regret is not doing Boogie Nights. It was a profound movie of my generation. I can’t imagine anyone but Mark [Wahlberg] in it. When I finally got to see that movie, I just thought it was a masterpiece.”
