An incident of 2016 has recently resurfaced on the internet. It’s the story of Bapurao Tajne, a man from Kalambeshwar village in Maharashtra’s Washim district, whose action won many hearts. Bapurao is a daily wage labourer who dug a well for his wife, who fell prey to casteism. The incident was somewhat shocking because Bapurao had managed to accomplish it within just 40 days, single-handedly.
Bapurao digs a well for his wife who was denied water due to caste discrimination
Bapurao Tajne, a resident of Kalambeshwar village in Maharashtra’s Washim district has made the impossible possible. After his wife was denied the use of water from the upper-caste wells, Bapurao decided to dig a well for her. Being a daily wage labourer, he had to manage both his work and the time to dig the well. However, despite having no experience or any hydrological guidance, Bapurao completed digging the well single-handedly within just 40 days.
