The Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 kick-started in full throttle back on September 23, 2023. The event closed its curtains on October 8, 2023. For the unversed, the 19th Asian Games were originally scheduled for 2022. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee decided to push it to 2023. Talking about India’s participation in the Asian Games 2023, it was a successful campaign for the Indian athletes, as we have seen so many athletes winning medals in their respective games.
India’s performance so far in the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023
India won a total of 107 medals at the Asian Games 2023. If we break down India’s winning tally in the Hangzhou Asian Games, Indian athletes have secured 28 gold medals, 38 silver medals and 41 bronze medals. Regarding India’s performance in the Jakarta Asian Games 2018, India had their best haul of 70 medals. However, hopes are high that Indian athletes will break this record of newly-built record of 107 medals in the next Asian Games.
