After wearing the hat of the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels from 2020, Lane finally made the decision to leave the team after a spectacular Egg Bowl victory. Ole Miss had tried their best to retain him; however, as Lane is leaving, they have some big shoes to fill. And as per reports, assistant coach, Pete Golding is up for a promotion as head coach of Ole Miss very soon.

Now that Lane Kiffin is joining LSU, Ole Miss is left in a pickle trying to find a new head coach. However, if reports are to be believed, Pete Golding, who had evolved the team for the better as the defensive coordinator, will be promoted to the position of head coach of Ole Miss soon.
