Munawar Faruqui Reveals He Sold ‘Samosas’, Worked 11 Hours Daily During Family’s Financial Struggle

Munawar Faruqui is a renowned stand-up comedian and rapper. He is widely loved for his unfiltered comedies and impressive public speaking skills. In addition, he appeared as a contestant on Kangana Ranaut’s reality TV show, Lock Upp season 1 in 2022, and became the winner of the show. Now, in an interview, Munawar talked about the same and revealed a few unknown deets.

Munawar Faruqui reveals he left education at a young age and worked 11 hours a day to earn the bare minimum

In an interview with Mashable India, Munawar Faruqui talked about his financial struggles and being in a massive debt. He mentioned that due to the same, he had to give up his education at a young age, and financially support his family. Munawar recalled his minimal income at that time to survive his family. And despite working for 11 hours, he used to get only Rs. 850. He said:

“We had a restaurant, but it didn’t work out. Dad lost all his money, was under massive debt, so I had to work. I worked for two months at a gift shop from 9 in the morning to 8 in the night. I made Rs. 850 per month for working 11 hours a day. I had to walk 3.5 km to the shop. I didn’t like it, which is when we decided to do something else.”
