Amid that, a sheriff investigating the case shared whether they have identified anyone specific as a suspect.

Is Carlos Palazeulos a suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping? Sheriff responds

Carlos Palazuelos is a 36-year-old delivery driver from Rio Rico, Arizona, who was stopped by law enforcement south of Tucson and detained for questioning. Authorities also searched his home and vehicle as part of the investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old, Nancy Guthrie. After several hours of questioning, he was released without charges; however, the public interest in him continued. Recently, during an interview with journalist Matt Finn, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos was asked whether Carlos is currently a suspect in the case. He said they released Carlos at that time because they had “no reason” to detain him; however, he wouldn’t say whether they had cleared him yet.
