The Padma Shri awardee and creative force behind Ogilvy India, Piyush Pandey, quietly left the world, leaving his surviving family devastated. Hours after his death, his sister, Ila Arun, issued the first statement regarding the loss of her ‘precious brother’. She told The Indian Express that Piyush was suffering from pneumonia and succumbed to complications from the ailment on the morning of October 24, 2025. Ila confirmed Piyush’s time of demise as 5:50 a.m. She shared an affectionate bond with her brother, Piyush, and opened up about his importance and necessity in the Pandey family. Referring to her late sibling as ‘the life of our family’, she said:
“My brother passed away at 5:50 a.m. this morning because of pneumonia complications. He was in the ICU. As a sister, I can say he was a precious brother and the life of our family.”
