Veteran actor, Prem Chopra is popularly known for his roles in movies such as Doli, Upkaar, and Do Raaste, among others. In his career spanning over five decades, he has done nearly 400 films and was recently seen in the blockbuster film Animal. It was in 1969 when Prem Chopra tied the knot with Uma Kapoor in an arranged love marriage set-up. The couple has three daughters, Rakita, Punita and Prerana. Now, in a new interview, the veteran actor recalled anecdotes about his wedding.

During the podcast, Timeout With Ankit, Prem Chopra opened up about his marriage with his wife, Uma. Talking about the same, he revealed that the late legendary actor Raj Kapoor initiated his sister-in-law’s proposal for marriage to him at Krishna Raj Kapoor’s request. As Krishna found Prem to be the perfect life partner for her sister, Uma, Raj Kapoor told Prem that Uma likes him a lot. In his words:
“Krishna ji (Raj Kapoor’s wife) asked around about me. She asked, ‘How is the guy.’ People said, ‘He is good. Has a great future.’ Then Raj Kapoor met me and said, ‘She is a very nice girl. Think about her.’ Prem replied, ‘Definitely, I will’.”
