The authorities were first alerted by Rob and Michele’s younger daughter, Romy, who found her father’s lifeless body in his estate in Los Angeles. It was Romy who alerted the police about her brother, Nick, being ‘dangerous’ and that he should be considered a ‘suspect’.
Rob Reiner and Michele didn’t know Nick was ‘violent’
After Nick’s arrest, many sources claim that Rob was worried about Nick’s well-being. A source close to the family tells PEOPLE that though Nick had been self-destructive in many ways, Rob and Michele never thought him to be violent. As per the source:
“If they thought he was violent, things would have been very different. At the worst of it, it hadn’t been like this. I don’t think anyone could have ever seen anything like this coming. Nick was declining lately but he had been really bad before.”
