Taking to her IG handle on August 9, 2023, Saira Banu shared an iconic photograph, that featured two stalwarts of Indian cinema, Ashok Kumar and Dilip Kumar enjoying a hearty laugh sitting together. However, it was Saira’s elaborated note which caught attention. Recalling the great friendship between the two actors, she mentioned how Dilip sahab would frequently visit Ashok Kumar’s house, along with Raj Kapoor and enjoy food delicacies prepared by his wife, Shobha Devi. Moreover, Saira Banu also revealed how at times, Ashok Kumar would pull Dilip sahab’s legs and jokingly accuse him of flirting with his wife. An excerpt from Saira Banu’s long caption can be read as:
“Ashok Bhaiyya lived close to the Studios those days and Raj and Dilip Sahib were always welcomed in Bhaiyya’s home to savour hot Bhajiyas made by his wife Shoba Bhabhi. Raj Kapoor would often join Sahib and hug him excitedly saying that he’s happy to know that he had joined the acting profession. Bhaiyya sometimes arrived while they were having Bhajiyas and demanded that they should play badminton with him. He would chide them jokingly, You come here and flirt with my wife, eat nice Bhajiyas and you don’t want to accompany me in playing badminton.”
