Salman Khan is all set for the release of his next offering, Sikandar, with Rashmika Mandanna. Salman’s dad, Salim, was one of the biggest filmmakers and scriptwriters of Hindi cinema. Salim was known for giving some of the most classic movies, although apart from his work-related achievements, he has made headlines for his relationships. Salim got married to Sushila Charak (Salma Khan) in 1964 and then had Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail and Alvira. It was in 1981 when he fell in love with Helen and married her. Now, Salman opened up about Salma and Salim’s marriage.

Salman, during the promotion of this next movie, Sikandar revealed unheard details from his parents, Salman and Salim’s marriage. He revealed that the biggest hurdle that his parents faced was not being from different religions. During the press interview, Salman revealed that there were no issues as his mom was a Hindu and his father a Muslim. The main issue was related to Salim’s work. Salman noted that there were no objections from Salma’s maternal side related to Salim’s religion. In his words:

“It was never about the difference in the Hindu and Muslim culture and the practices. The bigger and more concerning thing at that time was, ‘Ye toh film line se hain (He is from the film industry).’”
