Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut was a much-anticipated affair, with the star kid being a familiar face on social media and industry parties. She was supposed to be launched by Karan Johar with his movie, Bedhadak, whose posters were released in 2022. However, as the film is yet to hit the floors, Shanaya made her debut opposite Vikrant Massey in the film Ankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. As the film’s first-day low earnings have been revealed, it seems that this debut might mark a disastrous start for the newcomer.

As per a report by Sacnilk, Ankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan was able to earn only Rs. 35 lakhs on its first day. Released on July 11, 2025, the film’s earnings are the lowest of 2025, even though it hit the theatres on Friday, which generally sees more collections for films. Apart from being the lowest opener of the year, it has also made a record as being Vikrant Massey‘s lowest opening film.
