After initial doubts, she began to smoothly play the role and continues to do so after nearly 9 years of her replacement. However, everyone still remembers the stern accusation made by Shilpa Shinde, where she alleged that Shubhangi was copying her style to portray the character. Shubhangi Atre recently sat down for a conversation with Siddharth Kannan and opened up about the comments made by Shilpa Shinde. She clarified that she has never tried to imitate anyone and has always portrayed ‘Angoori Bhhahi’ with her individuality. The actress emphasised that stepping into play an already famous character wasn’t easy, but she made sure to respect the original while adding her personal touch to it. Sharing her thoughts on the role, Shilpa said:
“The truth is, I am not copying her at all. Look, I completely understand. It’s a great show, and Angoori Bhabhi is such a sweet character. It’s a very interesting role, and such characters are rarely written for television these days.”
