Sona Mohapatra’s story calls out the directors of Kaanta Laga
Post Shefali’s demise, Radhika and Vinay Sapru revealed that they had retired from the Kaanta Laga fever song forever. They had gone for Shefali’s prayer meeting where they shared of telling Shefali the final goodbye and shared a snap from their first photo session from the sets of Kaanta Laga. The directors revealed that they never made a sequel, and would be retiring from Kaanta Laga forever, as the song belonged to the actress. Now, Sona’s Instagram Story went viral, where she spoke about how the old and original song, Kaanta Laga, was not respected, the makers were not credited, and the directors made a PR out of a demise. Her post read:
“3 legends created KAANTA LAGA. Composer, lyricist and singer; RD Burman, Majroon Sultanpuri, Lata Mangeshkar and this utterly misplaced ‘retirement’ by people calling themselves ‘makers’ to get some PR out of a death, nothing less. (Viral B is a paid site largely) These two only created a smutty video with a remix with a 19-year-old. (Of course no permission from legends required for their xx interpretation). RIP and all for the 42 year old lady but legacy? and this (sic).”
