Sonia Gandhi, the former president of Congress and senior Congress leader was admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on June 15, 2025. A report by the ANI mentioned that Sonia was suffering from abdomen issues and, at the moment, has been stable and under observation in the gastroenterology department of the hospital. Well, this is not the first time in the month of June that Sonia was admitted to the hospital as earlier also she had faced a similar situation.
Why was Sonia Gandhi admitted to the hospital?
A statement released by Sonia’s team sharted that the Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson e has been admitted to the gastro department due to stomach-related problem and is under observation. It was also during the first week of June that Sonia was got to Shimla’s Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Hospital after repiortedly she complained of feeling restless. She went home post the checkup. Now, Sir Ganga Ram Hospitals doctor, Aman Chauhan, where Sonia is admitted shared that Sonia had come for a routine checkup. He shared in an interview with ANI:
“Sonia Gandhi was brought to the hospital for a routine checkup. Her blood pressure was slightly on the higher side, she is stable now.”
