Tragedy struck the Tamil film industry once again on Sunday, July 13, 2025, as SM Raju, a well-known stuntman, lost his life during the shooting of a car stunt for the upcoming film Vettuvan. The accident occurred in Tamil Nadu during a shoot that required a car-toppling scene. Raju was driving at high speed when the vehicle lost control and flipped, resulting in his instant death.

Visuals from the set that show the car moving forward at high speed before violently toppling over have been circulating across different social media platforms, shocking the netizens. The vehicle was left turned over after the crash, and the crew members rushed in to help SM Raju as fast as they could. However, despite efforts to pull him out quickly, Raju was already poorly injured and died.
