Boney Kapoor is one of the most sought-after Bollywood producers, who has more than 36 movies to his credit. Well, recently, Boney Kapoor made it to the headlines with his debate with Telugu producer, Naga Vamsi. For the unversed, film producers like Boney Kapoor, Naga Vamsi, Archana Kalpathi, and others recently sat for a roundtable discussion with Galatta Plus. Well, it was Boney and Vamsi’s debate over Bollywood and South Indian cinema that ended up triggering many, including Bollywood filmmaker, Sanjay Gupta, who called out the Telugu producer for ridiculing a senior producer like Boney Kapoor.

It so happened that during the roundtable discussion, Boney Kapoor was talking about the influence of films of different genres and styles in different regions. He gave an example of how in Russia, Raj Kapoor is still remembered, while in Egypt, people are in love with Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan’s craft. He also said how Gulf is a cosmopolitan area. It was Naga Vamsi, who stopped Boney and added that Gulf has a massive market for Malayalam films.
