Victoria Beckham opened up about struggling with Dyscalculia, a learning disorder
In a recent podcast, Call Me Daddy, Victoria Beckham opened up about struggling with her academics due to Dyscalculia, a learning disorder that affects brain functioning to understand and work with numbers. She was self-diagnosed as dyslexic. She had a difficult childhood marked by shyness and awkwardness. Victoria shared that when she was a kid, she was labelled ‘thick.’ She mentioned that earlier, there was no discussion on mental health, so a few things got internalised within her. She was quoted as saying:
“I was quite shy. I was quite an awkward child. I also struggled academically enormously. I’m a self-diagnosed dyslexic. I suffer from Dyscalculia. All those things that weren’t recognised when I was a kid. They just called me thick. We didn’t talk about mental health like we do nowadays, so I just internalized all of that, and it just made me more and more shy.”
